Last summer I spent several weeks roaming the beautiful landscape into which I was born(Sumava National Park, Czech Republic). Coming home after the months of trauma of observing my dad from a distance fighting and ultimately losing a battle with a vicious ilness he could not beat. I roamed the forests, meadows, hills and mountains every night after I put my children to sleep. My twilight walks. And slowly the raw pain begun to ebb away. On my final walk, a night before the day I was due to depart and go back to Scotland I found my heart again. A gift from the land that healed me .
